Accurascale JSA British Steel Coil Carriers - Vandalised and Weathered
Accurascale JSA British Steel Coil Carriers - Vandalised and Weathered
The set includes a pir of covered steel coil carriers with the British Steel livery.
In 1996 a batch of iron-ore tipplers were rebuilt by Marcroft Engineering for use by British Steel's Strip Products division carrying steel coil between Shotton and Llanwern - these wagons became JSA coil carriers. The source wagons were a mixture of inner and outer wagons but all gained conventional drawgear at each end.
All the JSAs were initially painted blue with British Steel branding. From 2003/4 the JSA coil carriers had the blue steel hoods replaced with lighter aluminium/composite hoods and were re-branded to reflect the change in ownership to VTG
They have been individually vandalised and weathered.
